Not Shutting The Door, 100 Public Transports Ticketed

Since last Tuesday (11/24), there have been 100 public transports ticketed by Traffic Directorate of Metro Jaya City Police due to not shutting the door when operating.

We're going to keep intensifying the raid. As the information gathered, there are still many public transports violating it

Those public transports were 64 Metro Mini (minibus)s, 12 Mikrolet (public minivan)s and 24 big-sized buses.

Head of Law Enforcement Sub-Directorate of Traffic Directorate for Metro Jaya City Police, AKBP Budiyanto said that lately his side often finds public transports which did not shut the door during operating. Whereas, based on Laws No. 22/2009, on Traffic, public transports must do that.

"The raid is in order to guarantee safety, security and convenience of passengers. After we held a raid, there were 100 vehicles netted," he uttered, Wednesday (11/25).

According to him, in accordance to article 124 verse 1e, drivers of public transports for transportation inside of trajectory obligate to shut the door during operating. If they violate it, will be charged as article 300 junto article 124 (1)e by imprisonment for the longest 1 month or fine amounted to Rp 250,000.

"We're going to keep intensifying the raid. As the information gathered, there are still many public transports violating it," he asserted.
