A Traditional Boat Grounded

A traditional boat (ojek boat) was grounded by Sea Security Unit (KPLP) of Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta. It was because the boat caught transporting passengers without permit or boat feasibility documents. 

When KPLP patrolled and checked, the helmsman of the boat could not show the documents. Then it's grounded right away

Head of Sea Transportation and Ports Management Unit for Jakarta Transportation Department, Syamsudin stated that the boat was secured when transporting passengers from Pramuka Island to Kali Adem. 

"When KPLP patrolled and checked, the helmsman of the boat could not show the documents. Then it's grounded right away," he explained, Wednesday (11/25).

According to him, the grounding was purposed to show other boat owners that the rules made must be obeyed for safety. 

"Now the boat are secured in Kali Jabat, Tanjung Priok, under supervision of Dir. Gen Sea Transportation," he disclosed.
