Jakarta Needs More Flats Development, Basuki Says

Jakarta Governor, Basuki “Ahok” T. Purnama is planning to build more vertical housing or flats in capital. This strategy is an answer of limited land in Jakarta.

“We should build more flats amid
the onslaught of limited land and rapid population growth,” he said on the
sideline of Jakarta Legislative Council plenary session, Wednesday (11/25).
Ahok conveyed that the vertical
housing development in City has already began and keeps accelerating its
development. “We keep moving forward,” he said.

Public Housing and Government’s Building Department added that the current
number of flats’ unit which will be built at 15 locations is reaching 21,000
units. They are located in Kampung Bandan, Ujung Menteng, Rawa Buaya and Pluit
Dam. The flat blocks consists of 15 floors by 1-2 hectare width and 30 square
meters of respective units.
Besides that, there are 10
locations that been set for integrated flat with market development. Such as
Sunter, Cempaka Putih, Jembatan Besi, Sindang, Serdang, Grogol, Lontar Kebon
Melati, Jelambar Polri, Sukapura and Block G Tanah Abang Market.
The flats’ unit compensation are given by plot. “Based on National Land Agency mapping
result, there are 520 plots in Kampung Pulo. We give them such a compensation in
a form of flat units as equal as their plots,” she uttered.
In addition, City offers
compensation concept against residents riverbank who have certificate by 1.5
times. It means that land area will be replaced by 1.5 times.
