All Flats in Jakarta to Have Waste Processing

Reducing waste from its source is one of Jakarta Provincial Government's programs that currently being intensified, therefore, the government will provide waste processing technology in all flats.

"We're going to apply waste processing system Reuse, Reduce and Recycle (3R) in all flats," said Head of Jakarta Housing and Government's Buildings Department, Ika Lestari Adji, at Rawasari Integrated Waste processing Site (TPST), Cempaka Putih, Central Jakarta, Friday (10/30).

North Jakarta to Add More Waste Banks

According to Ika, the first making of waste processing will be done in 3 flats, namely Daan Mogot (West Jakarta), Marunda (North Jakarta) and Jatinegara Kaum (East Jakarta).

"We have to synergize with Cleanliness Department about the technical. So that it could be spread to residents, as actually own trash still has high sale price," she expressed.

With the system, it will be more educating residents to be more order, environment clean, and compost existed could be used for greening. "If it's developed, it could increase residents' economic," she finished.
