Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) recorded that in Jakarta, there are 22 urban villages prone to landslide disaster. Most are in South Jakarta.

Head of Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency, Deny Wahyu Heriyanto disclosed, Jakarta area has 740 square kilometers width, divided into 262 urban villages. There are 8.3 percent of Jakarta areas at yellow zone landslide, which is in 22 urban villages.
"Whole yellow zone is located at the edges of the river. It is in 22 urban villages," he expressed, Thursday (11/26).

According to him, the areas that include yellow zone can cause landslide, especially in areas bordering river valley, escarpment, cliff path or the slope impaired. In addition, the old ground motion could be re-activated due to high rainfall and strong erosion.
"Such potential is mostly in South Jakarta, with 17 urban villages, followed by East Jakarta," he told.
He details, some yellow zone areas in South Jakarta are in Cilandak Barat, Cilandak Selatan, Cipete Selatan, Gandaria Selatan, Lebak Bulus, Pondok Labu, Lenteng Agung, Ciganjur, Cipedak, Jagakarsa, Srengseng Sawah, Tanjung Barat, Pondok Pinang, Bangka, Cilandak Timur, Kebagusan, Pejaten Timur and Bintaro urban villages.
While for 5 urban villages in East Jakarta, are Bale Kambang, Kampung Baru, Cijantung, Kampung Gedong and Kalisari. "People must be more vigilant, especially areas which have not have sheet pile. Because during dry season, soil texture is dry, it could cause landslide when rain pours," he explained.
