200 Buildings in Pluit Reservoir Demolished as Landslide Prevention Way

Around 500 joint personnel of Satpol PP, police, army, and North Jakarta Cleanliness Sub-Department tore down 200 buildings stood atop a wet cross-section on the east side of the southern part of the Pluit Reservoir, Penjaringan, North Jakarta, Saturday (1/10).
Those buildings must be demolished. If not, the landslide could happen when the peak of rainy season that predicted at the end of this January
The demolishment carried out at RT 16 and RT 19/RW 17, Penjaringan Urban Villagem Penjaringan Sub-District, North Jakarta, is aimed to smoothen normalization project in Pluit Reservoir. It was led by North Jakarta Mayor, Rustam Effendi. Prior to demolishment, related unit had done socialization to locals and then would be relocated into the Muara Baru Flat.
North Jakarta Mayor, Rustam Effendi disclosed relocation plan against 200 citizens of RT 19/17, Penjaringan, in the Pluit Reservoir's wet cross-section was already done a few days ago. While for other 200 households at RT 16 and RT 19/RW 17, will be relocated after demolishment is done today.

In overall, the amount of such buildings is reaching 2,000 buildings. He said, after being recorded, the building owners then relocated to Muara Baru Flat.
"We're currently coordinating with Housing Department for providing flat. At least, there are 400 units left, " he told.
Meanwhile, Executor of Jakarta Reservoir and River Normalization, Heriyanto added as many as 200 households will be relocated to the flat. His side is still waiting for readiness of 2 blocks of Muara Baru Flat.
"Probably, we will send heavy equipments type bachoe and drager or mud cleaner equipment in the upcoming February. We put them on the edge and middle of the reservoir to do normalization," he finished
