Basuki Inaugurated 13 Education Board Caretakers

We choose them who also providing assistance to the world of education in Jakarta

Jakarta Governor, Basuki 'Ahok' T Purnama inducted 13 caretakers of Jakarta Education Board. They were demanded to share knowledge with the city administration. In addition, it also aims to support the advancement of education in the capital.

Ahok acknowledged that education in Jakarta is still problematic. One of them is a lot of children who do not feel education in school. It is hoped the caretakers could help advancing it in Jakarta.

"I hope, the Education Board caretakers can share knowledge. Tell me what we want, discuss, give new program, etc," he stated, on the sidelines of induction towards Jakarta Education Board, at City Hall, Monday (11/30).

It is hoped, those caretakers can provide input to Ahok. In Jakarta, there are still  ineligible private schools found. "I want to have an idea or program that I do not know. I don't want to waste time. Hence, we need people who can work quickly. We expect, all can help us," he expressed.

Head of Jakarta Education Department, Arie Budhiman disclosed, Education Board is an independent figure. They have duty to provide input for the advancement of education.

"They provide advice or input to the governor, the Secretary and the Education Department that they would help us doing the task of helping better education providers," he exclaimed.

He mentions, the chosen caretakers have the best portfolio. One of them was Rector of Bina Nusantara (Binus), Astra and Berani Foundation.

"We choose them who also providing assistance to the world of education in Jakarta. The existence of the Education Board is very necessary. Evidently, they were very helpful. They are concrete. If it is useless, the governor would not make it," he asserted.
