7 Waste Banks Operated in Krendang

About seven waste banks officially operate in Krendang Urban Village area, Tambora Sub-District, West Jakarta, Sunday (12/13). Its inauguration was attended by Deputy Head of Jakarta Cleanliness Department, Ali Maulana.

Minimally, every sub-district should already have five banks until the end of this December

On that occasion, Deputy Head of Jakarta Cleanliness Department, Ali Maulana said that whole RW in Jakarta should have waste bank.

"Waste bank in every area has a goal to reduce waste volume that disposed into Bantar Gebang Landfill. Minimally, every sub-district should already have five banks until the end of this December," he expressed, when being interviewed by Beritajakarta.com, Sunday (12/13).

Krendang Urban Village Head, Andre Ravnic Pasaribu disclosed, besides waste bank, his party also did a composing in 28 locations and processed waste into biogas. "In each RW, four locations would be used as a waste processing site, where its waste will be processed into compost," he told.

As for the waste processing into biogas, he continued, has been done in Krendang Urban Village office.

"I hope it could also be imposed at RW level in future," he hoped.

He added, the amount of waste in Krendang is currently 960 kg to 1 ton per day. Approximately 67 percent of them is organic waste and the remaining 23 percent is inorganic.
