Jakarta Governor, Basuki Tjahaja Purnama wants street vendors in the capital to be guided by the local administration. He does not want they to be evicted.

"Headmen should list all of street vendors, don't evict them," said Basuki after inaugurating construction step II of Child-Friendly Integrated Public Space (RPTRA) at Jalan Kebantenan VI, Sunter Jaya, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, Friday (12/18).

He told, next year, his side will allocate budget up to Rp 1 trillion for prospering street vendors.
"The budget is for their working modal," he told.
He added, each of them will eventually get varied modal. Minimally, they will get Rp 5 million and maximally Rp 10 million.
"They will be charged Rp 4,000 per month. But if they don't pay it we give them penalty," he asserted.
