Security in Celebration Locations of Maulid and Christmas Intensified

Jakarta City Police has prepared tight security on the celebration of two religious holidays, Maulid Nabi Muhammad SAW (Prophet Muhammad's Birthday) and Christmas 2015. The security will be concentrated at some points in the capital and its surrounding areas.

This year's Christmas is unique since there is also Maulid Nabi that falls on December 24, so there are two religious holidays

"This year's Christmas is unique since there is also Maulid Nabi that falls on December 24, so there are two religious holidays," said Ir. Gen. Tito Karnavian, Chief of Jakarta City Police, at City Hall, Monday (12/21).

In addition, there are at least 9 points in Greater Jakarta to beware of. But most are located out of law area of Jakarta, particularly in Jakarta itself there are only 2 points. Yet they are also not significant.

"We're wary of any points where Maulid Nabi and Christmas celebrated closely. We set up in such a way thus it'll be orderly," he added.

Later on, as many as 8,000 personnel will be deployed as terrorism action anticipation.

"We're wary of any adjacent mosques and churches. So the security can be set up," he uttered.
