Basuki chose Budi Kaliwono as the new Director, which is expected to make Transjakarta much better in improving its services in order target of 1 million passengers per day.

Head of Jakarta Investment and Promotion Agency (BPMP), Catur Laswanto said, the director and caretaker replacement is hoped able to improve the company performance much better in future. Considering, traffic jam in Jakarta is awfully, that is why the new director work hard is needed to achieve the target.

Basuki to Replace Transjakarta Director

"Surely, Jakarta must prepare public transport to attract private vehicle user," he stated, during a press conference at the office of PT Transjakarta at Jl Letjen Sutoyo, Cawang, East Jakarta, Thursday (1/7).

Budi Kaliwono was chosen because he has a very good track record. He had long been in the world of transportation and financing.

He wants Kaliwono can immediately fix Transjakarta. That is by eliminating unworthy fleets and immediately purchasing new fleet. Bus maintenance must also be improved.

He must also be able to coordinate with related units well, such as Finance and Asset Management Agency (BPKD), Jakarta Transportation Department until Polda Metro Jaya Traffic Directorate.
