Rainy Season Peaks, Heavy Equipment Deployed

Jakarta Provincial Government anticipates flood in the capital by preparing all heavy equipment owned by Jakarta Dept. of Water Management.

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T. Purnama, has instructed Dept. of Water Management Head Teguh Hendrawan to anticipate prone to flood area. He asked the agency to deploy all heavy equipment as the anticipation.

“Now we are working on that,” he said, Thursday (1/14).

He admitted that there is still prone to flood area in the capital since the dredging process can not be done fast.

“But we try to eliminate its number,” he added.

It is predicted that flood in the capital will recede quickly compared to previous years since many water channels have been dredged.

Previously, BMKG predicted that the peak of rainy season will occur on third week of January up to second week of February.
