Tomorrow, Polyclinic in Jakarta will Close

Despite the decision of the General Elections Commission (KPU) to give the officers, including health service officers, a chance of their voting rights in the legislative elections, the emergency services and 24-hour service in city health centers will remain open.

The emergency service will open while the officers will be shifted to give their voting rights in the polling station

Head of Jakarta Health Department, Dien Emmawati, uttered that KPU policy obliges all the government and private institutions to dismiss all their employees in the Election Day. Nonetheless, the city will not abandon the health services for the residents so that the emergency services and 24-hour service in health centers will remain open in every sub-district.

According to Dien, the polyclinic at the Regional Public Hospital (RSUD) and health centers will be closed during the voting. As for the emergency services and 24-hour service in health centers and RSUDs must remain to operate for the public.

“The emergency service will open while the officers will be shifted to give their voting rights in the polling station,” explained Dien, Tuesday (4/8).

Dien stated that the Election Day only prevails until 1 pm, and after that, the officers will be on duty again as usual. “The officer will be shifted to use their voting right,” she said.

As it is known, KPU has published the Commission Regulation (PKPU) No. 26 of 2013 on Polling and Counting at polling stations on legislative election 2014. The regulation has determined that the voting day as a national day off. In article 3 paragraph 1, it states that the day and the date of the Election of DPR, DPD, DPRD Provincial and DPRD Urban Village/City in the polling station as a national day off or the dismissing working day.

In addition, other services in the city will close, including the service in the urban village, sub-district, and department offices. All licensing services are closed for one day as well.
