Two out of eight pumps in Tomang Barat Dam, West Jakarta, has been having problems since three months.

Due to trash, the pump cannot operate maximally, quickly hot and then damaged

Responsible Person for Tomang Barat Pump House, Agus Sumeno Putro said two pumps that have a capacity of 1.74 cubic meters per second and 1 cubic meter per second. The damage is in dynamo part.

"Due to trash, the pump cannot operate maximally, quickly hot and then damaged. If the situation is normal, trash volume can reach 1 truck, especially during rainy season," he expressed, Thursday (2/4).

He admitted has reported this matter to Water Management Dept. But until now, both pumps are not yet repaired.

As for the information, the pump function is to suck up flood and puddle around Tajung Duren Utara and Tanjung Duren Selatan areas, Grogol Petamburan Sub-district. Then the water is disposed to the dam as wide as 6 hectares and flowed back to Sekretaris River.
