112 Call Center for Disaster Response Launched

The city administration is about to launch the 112 call center for disaster response. It was marked by the signing of the Cooperation Agreement (PKS) between the city with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology.

All this time, the number service runs independently, such as fire, ambulance, etc. And now we will cooperate each other

Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Rudiantara disclosed the service is to facilitate people to give information.

"All this time, the number service runs independently, such as fire, ambulance, etc. And now we will cooperate each other," he uttered, at City Hall, Thursday (2/11).

Cancer Patients to Have Special Call Center

He added, the developed countries have applied such service that is easily remembered as the 911, from the United States. Then for the 112 service, can be used if residents experience things related to safety, comfort, safety, ambulance, boat, logistic and police.

"This is for all the needs of the community," he stated.

It will be managed by Jakarta Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD), with name Jakarta Standby 112. It can directly be contacted from all operators without compromising the mobile credit.

Responding on this matter, Jakarta Governor Basuki T Purnama said the service will replace previous service, that is 119.

"We will delete the 119 service. This is still a prepaid, because initiated with 021. While the 112, is free of charge," he closed.
