Design for Palliative Care Starts Being Designed

As reported earlier, the palliative care would be built on an ex-land of Sumber Waras Hospital, West Jakarta in the near future. Through Jakarta Health Dept, the design of this facility is currentlly still being discussed.

According to Koesmadi Priharto, Head of Jakarta Health Dept, his dept is still discussing a design for palliatve care. He assessed, this is much needed due to lack of cancer facility in Jakarta.
"We're now still discussing the design of palliative care. As planned, it will be built in the upcoming 2017 and complete 2019. Thus we can operate it in 2020," he told, Saturday (2/20).
City to Build Palliative CareHe furthered, at this time, queue for cancer surgery in the city can take 5-6 months. As for the radio therapy can spend 7 months and chemotherapy spends 3 months
"That's why the number of patients continues to raise," he expressed.
He added that hospitals does not only set up as palliatiave care, but also other cancer services It was built to complete the existing cancer hospital, like Dharmais.
"We started trying to fix it all. This means that if there is found broken facilities in Dharmais, we will fix it. Dharmais only serves cancer, we also have palliative. If patients cannot be treated if, we turn them to our palliative," he explained.
Later on, such hospital would have 40 floors with 1,000 rooms and 500 beds.
"Mr. Governor wanted the hospital to be completed immediately. So, in 2017, it should already be built and operate in 2020," he stressed.
