Jakarta to Make Public Transportation Free on April 24, 2025

Good news, the Jakarta Government is about to provide free public transportation services for all residents on April 24, 2025, coinciding with the National Transportation Day celebration.

On April 24, all passengers can enjoy free public transportation services all day long

Public Communication's Jakarta Governor and Deputy Governor Special Staff, Cyril Raoul Hakim said the types of transportation included in this program are Transjakarta (BRT and non-BRT), Mikrotrans, Jakarta MRT, and LRT Jakarta.

"On April 24, all passengers can enjoy free public transportation services all day long to commemorate National Transportation Day," he expressed, Friday (4/18).

He explained Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung, was slated to inaugurate the new Transjabodetabek route from Blok M to Alam Sutera on the same date. Currently, the route is still in the trial phase.

Jakarta Deputy Governor, Rano Karno would participate in the advanced trial to be held on April 21, 2024, coinciding with the commemoration of Kartini Day.

He added this trial is part of the preparation for the opening of four new routes that will connect Jakarta with Tangerang, Bekasi, and its surrounding areas.

"After Mr. Rano held a trial on the 21st, Mr. Pramono will officially inaugurate the new route on April 24, coinciding with National Transportation Day," he stated.
