Students Entangled in Law Case are Allowed to Participate UN

Head of Education Dept., Lasro Marbun admitted that he has not recorded the number of students who are currently entangled in law case. Nevertheless, they will still be given the opportunity to participate in UN this year. According to him, it has been governed under the Law No. 23 of 2002 on Education. In addition to that, it has been also coordinated with the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) and the National Commission on Children to get input for actions to be taken forward.

The students who are actually in prison are also given a chance for the test since it is stated in the Education Law of the children rights," he explained.
In the implementation of UN later, the school will go directly to the students who are in penitentiary (prison). It will also coordinate with the police for the implementation of UN in prison. "We'll deliver the questions to remain in control of the police also," he said.
In addition, students who are being treated at the hospital will also be accommodated. Just as students who are in prison, the schools are going to come straight to the students. "They will also get the same treatment, they will be accommodated and provided directly to the hospital," he added.
Education Dept. targeted the graduation rate this year will be higher than previous year. However, it was not to be the only main focus in the implementation of UN this time. Last year, Jakarta was in ranked ninth nationally for its SMK and SMA graduation rates. It is expected that this year, the rate could go up or at least be equal to the previous year.
As it is known, there are 119,879 student of SMK/SMA/MA who are ready to implement UN, on April 14-16. This amount consists of 13,558 students SMK students and as many as 51,551 private SMK students. While for state SMA there are 28.959 students and 25,811 private SMA students .
UN question printing carried out by the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud) in Surabaya, and sent to Jakarta on April 12. On its arrival in Jakarta, it was directly distributed into five cities and one regency. Each region is stored in a school in North Jakarta and Seribu Islands, stored at SMA 13, Rawa Badak, North Jakarta, and while in West Jakarta, the questions kept at SMA 78 Kemanggisan.
While in South Jakarta, the questions stored at SMA 70, Bulungan. In Central Jakarta, the questions kept in SMAN 68 Salemba and in East Jakarta,it is stored at SMK 26 Pulogadung. Furthermore, at the day before UN, the questions will be distributed to about 27 rayons.
