Basuki: PKL Is Supposed to Be Scouted, Instead of Beaten

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama deplored the demolition against street vendors (PKL) that conducted at the city level. According to him, the mayor did not analyze the PKL impact on traffic congestion

PKL is scouted, instead of beaten

"PKL is supposed to be scouted, instead of beaten. In Central Jakarta for instance, the mayor indiscriminately controls noodle vendors along Jalan Theresia, whereas it doesn't disturb traffic," he expressed, during executive meeting (Rapim) at City Hall, Monday (2/29).

He went on the say that, every apparatus does not directly seize the vendor's cart, but directing them first. The land is better used by vendor than for illegal parking by thugs.

PKL Coaching Location on Jalan Raya Peta Selatan Refused

He suggested, levy system auto-debit from Bank DKI will facilitate data collection of vendors. Thus, data collection could continue to do. They can also be given credit aid.

"We've allocated fund up to Rp 1 trillion for small and medium enterprises (UMKM). Now there are only 2,000 people receive it and the rest did not due to unavailable data, whereas it can be used to open business," he stated.
