Central Jakarta Abang None, Female Participants Dominated

Until the closing registration of Central Jakarta Abang - None (Abnon) contest, Saturday (4/12), a total of 203 participants have enrolled. Participants who register was dominated by women as many as 143 people while the rest were men.

Mayor of Central Jakarta, Sae fullah told that to become an Abnon is not only enough to understand local government's development strategy, but also need to posses good morals and professional attitude in performing their duties. He also asked the judges to look carefully at the potential of each candidate especially regarding to their morals.

"Abnon is not just seen by their good-looking only, but also flexible and intelligent and has a strategic role in the development process. Abnon is the ambassador of tourism, which could be revitalized the city," he said during the first briefing to Abnon participants in the ballroom Central Jakarta Office Mayor, Saturday (4/12).

North Jakarta Abang None Finalists Compete to City Level

According to Saefullah, Central Jakarta Abnon achievement and quality is not in doubt. Moreover, he continued, Central Jakarta Abnon has always been the general champion at the city level. He also hoped, Central Jakarta Abnon candidates of this year is able to maintain the achievements of their seniors. "I want the previous achievement to be maintained, for better Central Jakarta," he added.

Meanwhile, Head of Central Jakarta Tourism, Triyugo Prasetyo added that the participants must attach identity card (KTP), and aged at least 19 years and maximum 25 years with minimum education at high school, and not yet married. In addition, the male participants were required to have a minimum height of 170 centimeters while for female participants have to be 165 centimeters.

"In addition to looking attractive, participants should be open-minded, especially about Betawi culture," he emphasized.

The participants, he added, must be followed by 7 series of tests that have been set by the committee, including local government knowledge, Betawi culture, tourism, psychology, public relations, ethics and good communication in both Indonesian and foreign languages.

Furthermore, the participants will be selected to 15 pairs of finalists and must undergo to a quarantine process. In addition, of the 15 pairs of finalists, it will be filtered back into 4 pairs and will represent the Central Jakarta Abnon contest at the provincial level. The final night election will be held on May 14 at Senayan City. "During the quarantine period, the participants will also have night familiarity (makrab) to build intimacy and togetherness among fellow participants, organizers, bonding Abnon, local and county committee," he completed.
