RW Candidate in Kelapa Island Should Pay Rp 1 Million

RW chairman candidates in Kelapa Island Urban Village, North Seribu Islands must spend money between Rp 500 thousand-Rp 1 million as registration requirement.

The agreement is if the candidate is only two, they can collect money by Rp 1 million. But if it is more than two, its amount only reaches Rp 500 thousand

"Indeed, not all candidates have a lot of money to pay registration," said one of RW chairman candidates, Thursday (3/10).

In responses on this matter, Kelapa Island Urban Village, Muhammad Yani justified such requirement was initiated by urban village secretary.

"The agreement is if the candidate is only two, they can collect money by Rp 1 million. But if it is more than two, its amount only reaches Rp 500 thousand. This is not permanent. If they object it, we can withdraw the policy," he expressed.

He added, such agreement was taken between urban village secretary as chairman of election committee and resident as member of election committee. This is because there is no fund allocation from urban village side.

"So far, we have entered registration stage and the election will fall on March 7 for RW 1, 2, 3, and 4. For RW 5, will be heled on March 18," he closed.
