Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama, enstrusted legal verdict against Alex Usman convicted of Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) to the judge. He hoped, the corrupt can be impoverished.

"This is the right of the judge. But I hope, the corrupt can be impoverished through article money laundering," he disclosed, at City Hall, Friday (3/1).

According to him, the prosecutor is not only demanding for a long period of custody as well, but also all property owned returned to the state. If not, it will have an impact on the family. 

"This is to give deterrent effect," he stressed.

He continued if it is not applied, the family can use such illicit money someday.

As known, the judged has punished Alex Usman with imprisonment for 7 years reduced period of detention that has been undertaken. He was prosecuted for allegedly having a role in the corruption of the UPS procurement.
