Another Two Reservoirs to Be Constructed

Two reservoirs construction in the capital start to be constructed by Jakarta Provincial Government next week. Both reservoirs that will be constructed are located in Brigif district, South Jakarta, and Kampung Rambutan, East Jakarta.

"Both areas are ready to be constructed, only wait for Mr. Governor orders, which one will be constructed first," Manggas Rudi Siahaan said, Head of Department of Public Works, Wednesday (4/16).
He added, the construction of those reservoirs are not only for water reservoir but also have another function such as social, sports, and kids playground.

He revealed, the construction of both reservoirs can also minimized flood in the city, especially in South Jakarta and East Jakarta.
"Brigif reservoir will absorb the water that crossing Pesanggrahan River. While, for Kampung Rambutan Reservoir will absorb water in Sunter River," he revealed.
According to him, his side will directly be involved during the construction since equipment from city administration will be used.
"The excavator is owned by city administration. We use operator for the construction," he exclaimed.
He added, status of the area from those reservoirs are 80 percent finished. The rest, will be finished inline with the reservoirs constructed. "Hopefully the rest of residents land acquisition will not disturb reservoirs construction," he uttered.
