I saw smoke rising from inside (the factory) at around 7.20 AM, and followed by flames

I saw smoke rising from inside (the factory) at around 7.20 AM, and followed by flames,” said Mulyana, an owner of coffee shop across the factory.

The factory employees and the locals had tried to extinguish the fire, but it kept growing large. Luckily, 26 fire trucks from South Jakarta and West Jakarta Fire and Disaster Handling Sub-Departments quickly arrived at the scene and localized the fire, thus it does not spread to other buildings.

Fire in Pluit, One House and Two Cars Burned

“The fire burned an area as wide as 10x50 meters. It was finally extinguished after an hour. We’re currently cooling the scene. Based on the factory employees’ information, the fire was triggered by electricity short-circuit on a dryer,” stated Head of Operation Section for South Jakarta Fire and Disaster Handling Sub-Department, Edi Sucipto.
