Fasting Month to Fall on June 6, Muhammadiyah Says

Muhammadiyah, the second largest Muslim organization in Indonesia after Nadhlatul Ulama (NU), has set June 6 as beginning of this year's fasting month for their members and supporters. It is based on the results of a 'hisab hakiki wajudul hilal' calculation and conference conducted by Muhammadiyah central executive board’s tarjih (law making) and tajdid (reform) councils. 

According to declaration, the first fasting month will fall on June 6

Jakarta Muhammadiyah Vice Chairman, Agus Suradika disclosed the decision has been issued in the declaration number 01/MLM/I.O/E/2016.

"According to declaration, the first fasting month will fall on June 6," he said, after being interviewed by Beritajakarta.com, Tuesday (4/19).
