Flat Prepared to 90 Households in Cibesel TPU

Jakarta Vice Governor Basuki T Purnama revealed that as many as 90 households living around the Cipinang Besar Selatan Public Cemetery (TPU), Jatinegara, East Jakarta, will be relocated to several flats in the capital.

"If the flats are ready, we will relocate the citizens soon. But if they reject it, we would evict them," asserted Basuki, at City Hall, Wednesday (4/23).

According to him, the flat will be ready in July 2014.

Graves in Kapuk Teko Cemetery to Be Relocated

Such relocation plan gets positive appreciation from Nirwono Joga, an observer of Urban Planning of Trisakti University. He assessed, he had filed the plan some time ago.

"This is one of our efforts, and we encourage the idea to Jakarta government. Relocating citizens to the flat, is more humanizing," he stated.

He disclosed that Jakarta government does not only focus on Cibesel TPU occupants. This is because there are still many Jakarta citizens occupying illegal areas need a decent housing.

"Many people need a decent housing, like around Kebon Nanas TPU and Menteng Pulo Residence," he uttered.
