4 Months, 15 People Died on Central Jakarta Roads

As many as 74 accidents have happened in Central Jakarta along January until April 2014. From those accidents, four vehicles were smashed, 15 people died, and 55 injured. Motorcycle is the most involved vehicle in those accidents.

Accident happens because of many factors, such as sleepy drivers, damage roads, and indiscipline driving attitudes,” stated Central Jakarta Metro Resort Police Traffic Accident Unit Chief AKP Bremen Endriko, Friday (4/25).

To reduce the number of accidents, Endriko told that his party has routinely conducted outreach and socialization on traffic rules in schools until community groups. Moreover, policemen are also installing banners and signs for riders to be careful in locations prone to accident.

“We won’t stop reminding drivers, either motorcycles as well as cars, to maintain discipline in driving and obey traffic rules. Thus, accident would not happen and fatalities can be avoided,” he uttered.
