East Jakarta National Land Agency (BPN) recorded the number of lands or plots that have been registered in his region have reached 70 percent. That means, 30 percent of citizen lands are not yet having certificate.

70 percent land is been certified. The rest are still in form of girik (land ownership letter), transaction (AJB), verponding and etc

"70 percent land is been certified. The rest are still in form of girik (land ownership letter), transaction (AJB), verponding and etc," said Section Head of Land Right and Land Registration for East Jakarta BPN, Lihardo Saragih, Wednesday (5/11).

He disclosed, there are many factors that cause land that was not listed as a certificate. Among them are land dispute and high cost of taxable value (NJOP).

"Moreover, the current land certificate processing is cheaper and its payment via banking. There is no cash transaction at the service counter. If it is through Prona, it will be free," he expressed.

According to him, each land that has not been certified is not registered in BPN office. Land background still lies in the land owner and local urban village office. Therefore, his side will continue to help them in processing the land until its certificate.
