2017, Basuki Targets to Relocate 20,000 Households

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama is targeting able to relocate 20,000 households from the riverbank to the flat in the upcoming 2017. The number of households that will be relocated is in accordance with the flat that completed in the next year.

"In 2017, we are targeting to relocate 20,000 households. Maybe we will do it in October," he stated, at City Hall, Thursday (5/19).

Jakarta Housing and Government Building Dept this year is building more than 20,000 units of the flat. Construction is predicted to be complete in October 2017. Relocation is dedicated for citizens living on the riverbanks and green belts.

3 Towers will Be Built in Kapuk Muara Flat

Basuki admitted he had difficulties in the flat construction in the city. But after he replaced Head of Jakarta Housing and Government Buildings Dept, with Ika Lestari Aji, the construction runs quickly than before. The previous official, Jonathan Pasodung is deemed not maximal in providing low-cost apartment for residents.

"Before I replace Mr. Jonathan, I had told him to build 50,000 units but he just built 2,000 units. When being replaced with Mrs. Ika, she can realize my instruction well," he finished.
