The awareness of the tour guide not to perform activities in the core zone of Seribu Islands is still very poor. It is worried could ruin ecosystems and coral reefs in the zone.

"We have given counseling, but they (tour guide) recklessly enter into the core zone with reason of forced travelers," expressed Rudi Madandan, a Supervisor of the Region II National Park, Harapan Island, North Seribu Islands, Thursday (5/19).

The core zone 3 is including the waters of Kayu Angin Bira and Belanda islands, North Seribu Islands. Anyone is prohibited to conduct activities, especially snorkeling and diving that is almost certain to ruin the marine ecosystem in the core zone. Coral reefs damaged by being trampled when diving and snorkeling, but it is also the anchor guides.

"The monitoring is more frequently, especially located not far from Harapan Island. So all organisms in the core zone are protected and should not be taken," he uttered.

The regional II national park in Harapan Island includes Opak Besar, Pemagaran, Harapan, Kayu Angin, Bira Kecil, Bira Besar and Belanda islands. Which of them are the rehabilitation of sea turtles, mangrove nurseries, until illegal supervision and rehabilitation of sea turtles on the two islands.
