3 Houses in Kelapa Gading Gutted by Fire

Fire gutted three houses on Jalan Puskesmas, RT 06/06, Kelapa Gading Timur Urban Village, Kelapa Gading Sub-District, North Jakarta, Monday (4/28), at around 11.30 AM. There are no casualties reported.

The fire was first seen thick smoke coming from one of rented houses owned by Sihombing (50) but inhabited by Yanto (40). The locals had tried to put out the blaze, but they failed due to fire kept growing big.

“We had tried to put out the blaze using available tools. Due to strong wind, fire quickly grew up and spread to two other houses also owned by Mr. Sihombing. Seeing that, the residents immediately contacted fire department. Luckily, the houses were empty when the fire happened,” uttered Chief of RT 06/06 Kelapa Gading Timur, Nur Ali Ramlan (65).

According to Head of Operation Section for North Jakarta Fire and Disaster Handling Sub-Department, Muchtar Zakaria, as many as 16 fire trucks were deployed to the scene. The firemen were finally able to control the blaze about an hour later.
