Kebayoran Lama Sub-district Head, Munjirin Rasyid explains demolishment was executed by South Jakarta Administration over land owner request. Because, the landowner plans to re-arrange the kiosk in the market.
"The government was only asked for smoothing the demolishment. This is a personal land. The owner wants to do arrangement," he told.
He expressed, prior to demolishment, the landowner was willing to assist South Jakarta Administration to transform the land into a relocation shelter for street vendors of Kebayoran Lama Market who will be relocated from social and public facilities.
"We hope the process could run well, thus the vendor along the street can be accommodated," he explained.
According to Rasyid, the demolishment went smooth and conducive without protest. In future, Jakarta Small and Medium Enterprises Cooperatives (KUMKMP) Dept will encourage the landowner to manage the existing vendor and street vendors who will be relocated.
"We are supporting the private sector who wants to help us in reducing the street vendors," he finished.
