Eaten by Termites, SDN Malakasari 13/15 Prone to Collapse

The building of State Elementary School (SDN) Malakasari 13 Pagi and Malakasari 15 Sore, Duren Sawit, East Jakarta, needs to be renovated. This is because some parts of the building made from wood already fragile by termites and prone to collapse.

Those parts of buildings consist of sills and window, where there found many porous and hole. Similar condion is also spotted in its canopy and glass window. Not only that, the park's fence has damaged, broken and neglected.

 

Abudal Harudin, a 6th grade teacher of SDN Malakasari 13 admitted that his side has repeatedly proposed renovation to the East Jakarta Primary Education Sub-Department. But there has been no further response. Moreover, the amount of the student in the school is quite a lot or reaching 305 people.

"Our school building's roof is made from iron. While its wall was fragile and prone to collapse. This is very dangerous and can endanger students during learning and teaching activities (KBM) in the class," he expressed, Tuesday (4/29).

Previously, the class II roof was also collapsed yet it had been renovated using the School Operational Aid (BOS). The renovation itself was conducted in 2000.

"The school should be renovated because the building is easily leak if rain pours," lamented Principal of SDN Malakasari 15 Sore, Kokon Sukanda.

Regarding this matter, Head of East Jakarta Primary Education Sub-Department, Nasrudin admitted the school condition is very worrying. Even he had checked its condition and had proposed it to be renovated.

"Hopefully, the school could be renovated this year," he hoped.
