112 Firefighters Extinguish Fire in Tanjung Barat"In this dynamic life, we must always remain cautious. Incidents like this are usually caused by electrical short circuits or negligence in using gas stoves," he shared on Friday (2/13).
He added that the administration is providing temporary cash assistance and basic necessities to the fire victims.
"We are working to include them in the Home Renovation Program as the buildings were completely destroyed and can no longer be used," he stated.
To prevent similar incidents, Anwar added that fire safety outreach will be intensified across the sub-district, urban village, and city levels.
"I also urge residents to be more careful. Sometimes people leave the stove unattended while cooking, and when they return, the house has already been engulfed in flames. These are the risks we must be aware of together," he emphasized.
Meanwhile, Afriutami, 43, one of the victims, expressed hope that her home could be rebuilt with government assistance so her family can rebuild their lives and move forward.
"I was only able to save important documents. Hopefully the mayor’s visit will help pave the way for us to receive support, especially to rebuild our home," she said.
