9,000 Cadgers in West Jakarta Have Not Been Guided

Jakarta Provincial Government has tried many attempts on relocating cadgers in the capital city. One of the ways is by preparing 20 trading locations in seven sub-districts in West Jakarta. However, there are only 2,000 cadgers getting guidance from 11,000 recorded cadgers.

For them, we have built 20 trading locations spread in seven sub-districts,” stated Head of West Jakarta Cooperatives, Micro, Small Medium Scale Enterprises and Trade (KUMKP) Department, Slamet Widodo, Tuesday (4/29).

Asem Reges Tamansari Cadgers, Congestion Nest

According to Widodo, his party will give those cadgers capital though cooperatives exist in urban villages. “Besides UKM knowledge and partnership, we will also facilitate them in terms of giving capital by involving cooperatives in urban villages,” he said.

Moreover, Widodo expects mall managements to participate in providing trading locations for the cadgers. “It has been regulated in Bylaw No. 2/2012 that regulates private parties to provide places for UKM,” he uttered.

In addition, Widodo admitted that his party still faces some difficulties in relocating cadgers in Pasar Pagi Asemka. For information, 600 cadgers refused to be relocated to the prepared building due to afraid of low visitors and lack of income.

“We’re still having difficulties in relocating cadgers in Pasar Pagi Asemka because they refused to move. But now, some of them have been recorded and will move,” he uttered.
