The Lubang Buaya Urban Village PPSU personnel are hard at work transforming a roadside plot into a vibrant new green space in Lubang Buaya neighborhood.
It is currently about 35% complete
The work, located along Jalan Pintu 2 near the iconic Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) landmark, aims to revitalize a 775-square-foot (72-square-meter) area. The plan includes extensive landscaping and the installation of new sidewalks to improve pedestrian access.
Lubang Buaya Urban Village Head, Latiful Syamsi said the initiative is part of an ongoing effort to beautify the city's corridors.
W. Jakarta City Parks and Forestry Enhances Greening at Marzuki Park"Ten personnel are deployed to handle the work. It is currently about 35% complete," he expressed, Friday (3/6).
He explained the site was not always a green space. Before the transformation began, the plot had become a local eyesore—frequently used as an illegal dumping ground for trash and construction debris. It was also a hotspot for unauthorized street vendors and illegal parking that clogged the roadside.
"We are giving this area a complete makeover to make it cleaner, greener, and more inviting," Syamsi explained.
This work is more than just a cosmetic fix; it’s a strategic improvement for the city's infrastructure. The road serves as a vital artery and a major commuter corridor connecting the neighboring city of Bekasi to Jakarta.
"Construction is currently in full swing, and we are on track to wrap things up by late March," he added.
This work received appreciation from one of the residents, Surya (41).
"We’re very pleased with these revitalization efforts. This project will finally put an end to the urban blight and clutter that have long defined this area," he stated.
