222 People Served at Tanjung Priok Terminal Health Post

During the 1447 Hijri Eid homecoming and return flows, the North Jakarta Health Sub-agency and National Narcotics Board (BNN) health post at Tanjung Priok Terminal attended to 222 people.

Keeping an ambulance on standby at the terminal to handle emergencies

North Jakarta Health Sub-agency Head, Murniasi Hutapea reported that 222 people, including drivers and intercity travelers, were served between March 13 and 26.

"Medical check-ups covered blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, alcohol levels, and drug screenings," she noted, Friday (3/27).

She provided a breakdown, noting that 172 drivers had received medical check-ups. While 132 were cleared to drive, 54 others were disqualified.

"Additionally, we handled 36 travelers with minor health problems—mostly coughs, the flu, migraines, and body aches from the fatigue of long-distance travel," she added.

Murniasi noted that her team will transfer patients with critical conditions to the Tanjung Priok Regional General Hospital, despite no major illnesses have surfaced to date.

The post operates with a joint team of 10 members from the Health Sub-agency, BNN, and community health centers on a shift basis.

"We are also keeping an ambulance on standby at the terminal to handle emergencies," she added.

She hopes the facility ensures that drivers and homecoming travelers stay fit for a safe and smooth trip. Operating since D-8, the post will remain available until D+8 of Eid.

"Safety is paramount. We appeal to travelers to make use of this service before they head back out on the road," she stated.

One of the intercity bus passengers, 47-year-old Abdul Aziz, praised the medical station after returning from his hometown in Purwokerto.

"Everything is normal, I'm just tired from the journey. Having this post is highly beneficial as it allows us to get a check-up right after we arrive," he admitted.

Pandawa Bus Driver, Muhammad Khairul (34) was cleared after completing a medical check-up and urine screening.

He urged for the continued enhancement of these health services to ensure the safety of drivers and commuters alike.

"The results were normal, Alhamdulillah (thank God). It allows me to continue the journey and transport passengers more confidently," he said.
