Rano Ensures Kebon Kosong Fire Survivors Are Handled Well

Jakarta Vice Governor, Rano Karno, visited the evacuation site for fire survivors in RW 04 and RW 05 of Kebon Kosong Urban Village at Jusuf Hamka Field, Jalan Benyamin Sueb, Kebon Kosong Urban Village, Kemayoran, Central Jakarta.

Rano's visit was to ensure that all fire survivors received proper services and assistance.

"Based on the temporary recapitulation, the fire affected almost 304 buildings, 354 families with a total of 679 people affected," he said, Tuesday (6/2).

Rano explained that of the total 679 residents affected by the fire, 326 were male and 353 female, 35 elderly, 90 toddlers, 53 elementary school-aged children, six junior high school-aged children, 22 vocational school teenagers, and 414 adults including pregnant women.

Rano explained to residents that the Jakarta Provincial Government provides various services such as public kitchens, health posts and psychological support posts for children.

Then, his party has also opened population administration and civil registration services to residents whose population documents were burned.

The Social Agency, in addition to distributing food aid, has also distributed in-kind assistance in the form of mattresses, clothing and school equipment.

"If necessary, officers are ready to take residents to the nearest hospital to receive further health services," he added.

Rano stated that many fires in Jakarta are caused by improper use of electrical installations.

Therefore, Rano urged residents to be aware of the dangers of fires caused by electrical short circuits.

"Today the Governor will arrive from Medina, and he took the time to send his greetings to the residents, hoping they will be patient in facing this disaster," Rano stated.
