Pump will Be Installed in Melati Reservoir

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama disclosed, the Melati Reservoir is not only cleaned from garbage and mud. In future, the reservoir would have water pump and filter.

"Melati Reservoir has been cleaned.Then we want to attach pump and filter there," he stated, at City Hall, Thursday (6/16).

According to him, the reservoir repair is the obligation of Intiland. The company engaged in a property field proposed mall development and reclamation. As replacement, they are obliged to repair the reservoir.

Middle Flow Infrastructures Ready to Face Flood

"So this is obligation of Intiland developer. They will attach the pump. Intiland seems willing to develop the mall and reclamation," he expressed.

He disclosed would not prohibit developers who will develop around the reservoir. But they are also obliged to maintain it, because it becomes water reservoir that could reduce flooding.

"You cannot construct in the reservoir but around it, because it is a lake that owned by someone, instead of us. So the important is its function. That's why we say we want to develop a building there, you must fix the all pumps first," he finished.
