109,700 Pills of Ecstasy & 48 Kg of Meth Destroyed

Directorate of Jakarta Police Drugs Detective, destroyed evidence of narcotics from case results from March to May 2016, Thursday (6/16). They have destroyed 42 kg of liquid methamphetamine, 4.8 kg of crystal methamphetamine, and 109,700 ecstasy pills.

Destroying is done by placing the drug in a tub containing water to parse the content in the liquid crystal meth

Directorate of Jakarta Police Drugs Detective, Sr. Comr. John Tuman Panjaitan disclosed that police are mandated to destroy evidence in the investigations. By so, residents have confidence in the police in combating drug in Jakarta.

"Destroying is done by placing the drug in a tub containing water to parse the content in the liquid crystal meth. For ecstasy and crystal meth, are blended and then destroyed to control tank," he explained.

On the other hand, Vice Chief of Jakarta Police, Brig. Gen. Nandang Jumantara expressed, drug circulation is always rampant each year. He assessed, Indonesia is emergency drug because there is an increase in production, dealer, and its users.

"Its circulation also involves international network, thus cooperation is important to eradicate them," he stated.

Embedded in such criminal act, eight suspects were detained. And two of them are an international network. They were arrested in different places, precisely at Jalan Raya Bekasi Timur, Pulogadung, East Jakarta; Jalan Maleo, Bintaro Jaya Sector 9, South Tangerang, Jalan Mangga Besar IX, Taman Sari, West Jakarta and hotel in Jakarta.
