Jakarta Shares Two Digital Platforms with 200 Cities

The Jakarta Provincial Government has shared two digital platforms with 200 cities across Indonesia, allowing them to use and replicate the platforms. Jakarta Vice Governor Rano Karno symbolically handed over the platforms during the opening of the JAKI & Fellowship Cities Forum (JFCF) 2026 at the Blok G Pola Room, Jakarta City Hall, on Wednesday (8/19).

We hope this step will be the beginning of broader collaboration

Jakarta Communication, Informatics and Statistics Agency (Diskominfotik) Head Marulina Dewi said the two platforms are a digital city data platform and a learning management system. The platforms are being shared with 200 cities, including Bandung, Depok, Bekasi, and Probolinggo, allowing them to use and replicate the technologies.

"We hope this step will be the beginning of broader collaboration," she said.

Marulina noted that the Jakarta Provincial Government wants to give other local governments access to digital applications and technologies that Jakarta has developed and proven effective.

Beyond providing access to the technologies, Jakarta is also opening up opportunities for other regions to replicate its digital solutions, along with knowledge transfer and implementation support, Marulina said.

She emphasized that the initiative reflects Jakarta's commitment to not only developing innovations, but also sharing them, working with other regions to further develop them, and ensuring they benefit communities across Indonesia.

"So, it's not simply about handing them over. We will work together with our colleagues in local governments. Ultimately, the results will benefit Jakarta again," she said.

Jakarta Vice Governor Rano Karno stressed the importance of making public policies and services more targeted.

He said the Jakarta Provincial Government sees technology as a potential game changer in addressing various urban challenges, including through the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and big data.

According to him, these technologies can help the government better understand residents' needs, set policy priorities, and ensure education, healthcare, and social assistance reach those who need them most.

Jakarta is continuing to expand the use of AI across various aspects of city governance, from the Intelligent Traffic Control System, which manages traffic in real time, and Jakarta Satu, which integrates geospatial data based on the principles of one map, one data, and one policy, to JAKI, a super app for public services.

"These innovations show that technology should not stop at being merely sophisticated. More importantly, it must serve as a tool to improve urban development systems," he asserted.
