Water Mist Conducted in Eight Districts of West Jakarta

The West Jakarta City Administration Government, Wednesday (9/9), carried out simultaneous spraying using the water mist method on a number of main roads in eight districts.

Also aims to cool the area

West Jakarta Vice Mayor Ali Murtadho said that in addition to mitigating volcanic ash from the eruption of Mount Anak Krakatau, this spraying is also an effort to reduce the impact of the prolonged dry season.

Several Main Roads in Central Jakarta Sprayed

The activity involved the ranks of district, Fire Handling and Rescue, Park and Forestry, Satpol PP, Transportation, BPBD, and PAM Jaya.

"The activity was carried out simultaneously on a number of main roads in eight districts, starting from morning until midday," he said.

Head of Taman Sari District, Simson Hutagalung stated the spraying operation targeted the Kota Tua, Glodok, and Mangga Besar areas. The water misting operation covered Jalan Lada Dalam, Kunir, Pintu Besar Utara, Kali Besar Barat, Gajah Mada, Hayam Wuruk, and Jalan Mangga Besar.

The spraying involved one fire pump unit with a capacity of 10,000 liters, as well as one watering tanker from the West Jakarta Park and Forestry Sub-agency.

"Today, we also distributed 150 masks and yesterday we distributed 500 masks," he stated.

Meanwhile, Vice of Kembangan District, Abdul Chodir explained spraying in his area was carried out in the Urban Village of Meruya Utara, Srengseng, Joglo, Kembangan Utara, Meruya Selatan and Kembangan Selatan.

"In addition to roads, spraying also targets trees along green belts. This spraying also aims to cool the area," he admitted.
