Boosting Comfort, Transjakarta Bolsters Nighttime Patrols

PT Transportasi Jakarta (Transjakarta) issued an apology to commuters affected by late-night service issues at the Pasar Baru Stop along Corridor 8 (Lebak Bulus–Pasar Baru). Following reports circulating on social media, the operator recognized that this is a emerging issue that calls for a targeted solution.

PR and CSR Head for PT Transjakarta, Ayu Wardhani revealed that updated Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are underway to prevent and resolve potential hiccups down the road.

Key measures being implemented include stricter frontline monitoring, routine cleaning for buses and stops, and deep coordination with the Jakarta Social Agency to ensure a compassionate response.

"We responded promptly to this emerging issue. As we roll out tighter ground supervision, we are actively developing more adaptive SOPs to tackle it effectively," she expressed, Tuesday (9/22).

PT Transjakarta highly values every piece of input and report from its passengers. She emphasized that ensuring a comfortable, safe, and clean experience both inside buses and at stops is Transjakarta’s top priority.

"We remain fully open to feedback via our official social media channels or call center at 1500 102 to drive continuous improvements and deliver the best possible service for the people of Jakarta," she affirmed.

This follows a wave of social media buzz surrounding homeless individuals and people in need of social assistance taking shelter on TransJakarta buses, specifically along Corridor 8, from midnight until the early hours.

Reports indicated that these individuals remained on board across full loop routes to take advantage of the air-conditioned buses instead of alighting at the end of the line.

The trend sparked concern since public transit is designed for urban mobility, creating an urgent need for balanced solutions that tackle the underlying social issue while safeguarding the commute quality for regular passengers.
