Aid for Fire Survivors in Kampung Muka Ancol Has Been Distributed

The basic needs of fire survivors on Jalan Kampung Muka, RT 09/04, Ancol Urban Village, Pademangan District, North Jakarta, have been met. A number of items of aid were distributed to the evacuation center at At-Taubah Madrasah, Block D, including food, mineral water, clothing, and baby supplies.

Head of Ancol Urban Village, Bijakri Saud Maruli Manik, said aid came in stages from the North Jakarta Social Sub-agency, the North Jakarta Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), the police, and a number of other parties.

"Aid continues to be distributed to meet the needs of residents, ranging from food, baby supplies, medicines, mineral water, toiletries, clothes, blankets, fans to post tents," he said, Tuesday (9/29).

He explained that the fire destroyed 20 semi-permanent buildings, consisting of 95 rented rooms. A total of 110 families totaling 380 people were left homeless.

"As of now, 174 residents are recorded as being in evacuation centers. Meanwhile, others have chosen to temporarily stay with family members or other locations," he explained.

Head of North Jakarta Social Sub-agency, Ronny Jarpiko stated the aid distributed includes basic necessities and school uniforms. They will also provide meals for the evacuees morning, afternoon, and evening for the next two days.

"Consumption needs have been distributed according to the number of refugees and requests from the urban village," he stated.

The aid provided includes rice, biscuits, instant noodles, soy sauce, sardines, cooking oil, mats, rolled mattresses, high school uniforms, baby soap and shampoo, and sandals.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Disaster Management Division of the North Jakarta PMI, Heri Asmedi, added that his party distributed 15 packages of baby supplies, 30 packages of hygiene supplies, 50 blankets, 15 sacks of suitable clothing, 35 mattresses, and 10 boxes of mineral water.

"Yesterday, we provided first aid to residents suffering from lacerations, abrasions, burns, and shortness of breath. We remain on standby and monitor the residents' condition following the fire," he admitted.
