July 27, Binduk Operation Held Simultaneously

To anticipate illegal newcomers, Jakarta Population and Civil Registration Dept is going to hold population operation (Binduk) simultaneously on July 27.

"Binduk operation will be held in each region. We have set points that would be raided," said Edison Sianturi, Head of Jakarta Population and Civil Registration Dept, Wednesday (7/19).

As planned, the operation will involve other units such as Social Dept and Satpol PP. Later on, the newcomer living on the riverbank, under bridge, as well as social and public facility will be disciplined.

Newcomer Must Report to RT/RW

"We predict those roam around factory and household industries. Do not let them to build buildings on the river and the riverbank," he stressed.

His side predicts, the number of the newcomers this year will hit 65 thousand people. The number declines up to nine percent compared to last year, which were 70,500 people.

"We do not forbid them to live in Jakarta, as long as they live in a decent place," he finished.
