As known, the National Exam for junior high school (SMP) level has been started yesterday, Monday (5/5). However, one SMP in Sukapura, Cilincing, North Jakarta, namely State Junior High School (SMPN) 289, does not hold UN because it does not have ninth grade students.

SMPN 289 was just recently opened and only has VII grade. That’s why we do not hold UN

SMPN 289 was just recently opened last year. The school only has 228 students who are eight graders as first year generation. Its studying and learning activities are divided into 14 classes.

Even though SMPN 289 does not hold UN, its teachers are still supervising UN in other schools. As for the students, they are dismissed to study at home during UN is held.

“ SMPN 289 was just recently opened and only has VII grade. That’s why we do not hold UN . Perhaps UN would be held in two years ahead,” said Karsidi, one of SMPN 289 teachers, Monday (5/5).

Meanwhile, SMPN 289 Headmaster, M Yusuf, acknowledged that his school does not hold UN.

“The VII grade is the class of first generation in SMPN 289 Sukapura. But, our teachers keep supervising UN in other schools,” he stated.
