No More Garbage in Melati Dam

Relaying Beritajakarta.com's data, the dam that located behind Thamrin City looks clean and beautiful. Aside from no garbage, water from the dam is now also free from rotten smell.
Amin Setiawan (58), a citizen of Gg Dukuh Pinggir RT 02/05 disclosed, formerly, the dam was filled by household garbage and water hyacinth. Currently, the dam is clean after being cleaned by PPSU officer.

He hoped such condition could be maintained and used as a recreation site for local residents.

Meanwhile, Cleanliness Management Unit Controller for Central Jakarta Cleanliness Dept, Rohmat explains the Melati Dam has been cleaned since 2014. PPSU always does cleaning every day at the location.
"Every day, our officer does cleaning since 8 AM-4 PM. We send seven officers to the field," he expressed.
He added that garbage is dominated by plastic because there are many street vendors open stall nearby the dam.
"Formerly, we could pick up six cubic of garbage, and now is two cubic per day," he disclosed.
