Reported by Folmer | Translated by Isa Efriadi
The existence of tour buses in the capital city gets positive response from Jakarta citizens. Since launched on February 24, the citizens are enthused to get onboard those free of charge buses.
The provision of double-decker buses that will cross in every 10 minutes is to minimize accident on the street. If you lack of money, just take the free bus
Because of that, Jakarta Provincial Government plans to add more of those buses to serve the citizens. It is scheduled that each bus to pass on city streets every 10 minutes.
“I also request for double-decker buses to be provided, because Jakarta will prepare all tourism routes. We will provide free buses for every 10 minutes,” stated Basuki during the demonstration of Scania double-decker bus that has Euro 6 gas engine, at southeast gate of Monas Field, Central Jakarta, Thursday (5/8).
Basuki hopes that with this free transportation, the citizens would park their vehicles and get onboard the tour bus.
“ The provision of double-decker buses that will cross in every 10 minutes is to minimize accident on the street. If you lack of money, just take the free bus ,” he uttered.
According to Basuki, Jakarta Provincial Government will take Rp 1-2 trillion from the City Budget (APBD) to realize the program of free double-decker free tour buses provision.
“We believe that budget surplus from the tourists, 10 percent of development tax, hotels, and entertainment deposits will be a lot more than the Rp 2 trillion we invested for bus,” he said.
