Hercules' Hearing, Jalan S Parman Severe Congested

Today's sentencing hearing of Hercules Rosario Marshal had congested traffic from Tomang until West Jakarta State Court (PN) on Jalan S Parman, Slipi. The police who guarded in Tomang intersection could not do much with the ever-increasing congestion.

He should be imprisoned, but we respect whatever the judge decision

The hearing was started at 12.00 PM with indictment extortion and money laundering allegation. There were not many Hercules supporters coming into the hearing. However, they came by driving private cars and parked in front of the court office.

The hearing was guarded tightly by hundreds of West Jakarta Police Sector supported by Metro Jaya Brimob Police officers to anticipate the potential of post-verdict riots.

Head of West Jakarta Criminal Investigation Police Unit, Hengki Haryadi, said that along this time, Hercules has a bad track record. The sentence against Hercules should be given to give deterrent effect for him.

“He should be imprisoned, but we respect whatever the judge decision,” said Haryadi, Thursday (5/8).

The vigilantism action by Hercules with its group had already disturbed the public. Haryadi hoped the judge decision could satisfy the public justice.

"Vigilantism should be eradicated, and the sentence should give deterrent effect,” stated Haryadi.

Haryadi had anticipated if the defendant would be let go free. But he still did not want to tell the anticipation steps prepared by the police. “Just wait, it’s secret,” he stated.

Hercules was sentenced imprisonment of 5 years by the Public Prosecutor (JPU). He is considered to violate Article 368 of KUHP and Article 3 of Law No. 8/2010 on Money Laundering.
