The city administration plans to provide the articulated bus in the entire main corridors in order to optimize public service in the capital. By doing so, all passengers can be accommodated and cut waiting time at the bus stop.
Our plan is articulated bus will color the all main corridors
"Our plan is articulated bus will color the all main corridors," said Jakarta Transportation Department, Muhammad Akbar, Monday (5/12).
Currently, the Transjakarta has served 12 corridors on the main roads, 2 lanes of the City Bus Integrated with Transjakarta Bus (BKTB) for small lanes, as well as some lanes of the Border Transportation Integrated with Transjakarta (APTB) which leads to the outside of Jakarta.
City to Test Sweden Articulated Bus TomorrowAlthough all the main corridors will be served articulated buses, according to Akbar, yet the presence of a single bus and medium-sized bus is still important to be operated on feeder lines. In addition, the single bus will also be used to serve the night public transport.
"There will be some single buses on small lines and rested for the night public transport. This is because the night transport does not need a lot of capacity," he disclosed.
As known, the government had spent Rp 3.4 trillion to buy Transjakarta bus this year. Its amount is higher threefold compared to last year, which was only Rp 1 trillion.
